We have planned an array of tours for your enjoyment in Toronto.  We hope that you and your family/guest will take advantage of some of the world’s best attractions.  Toronto is a popular tourist and convention destination that adheres to very strict deadlines and cancellation policies for their attractions.  Please read all descriptions in their entirety and adhere to the deadlines.

You won't want to miss this networking opportunity!  Join the Host Chapter and your fellow SIORs for an array of sweets, crepes, international coffees and entertainment aboard the Matthew Flinders as you sail on Lake Ontario and see the highlights of Toronto at night. (A cash bar will be available.)  Transportation will be provided from the Fairmont Royal York to the cruise terminal.   Boarding of the boat will begin at 8:00 pm.

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 30

 

Walking Tour of Yorkville, Casa Loma and the Royal Ontario Museum (Dead Sea Scrolls) - CANCELLED

 

 

Bay Adelaide Center

 

Time:  1:30 pm-3:30 pm

 

Bay Adelaide Centre is the first new development in Toronto's financial core in more than a decade.  It is a 1.16 million square foot, 51 storey office tower at the northeast corner of Bay and Adelaide Streets.  The building is built to a LEED Gold standard and will be the first of this designation in the financial core.  Current tenants include; KPMG, Goodmans LLP, Fasken Martineau, Heenan Blaikie LLP, ASAP Reporting Services and Voorheis LLP.  The Building was completed in July 2009, ahead of schedule and Heenan Blaikie was the first Tenant to move in.  Bay Adelaide Centre completes the underground PATH system (27 km long) that is the last piece connecting Scotia Plaza on Adelaide Street to the Hudson’s Bay Centre on Queen Street.  It is currently 73% leased and has a beautiful ½ acre plaza to the east of the tower.

Young Professionals Evening Out in Toronto

 

Time:  7:30 pm

 

Join the Young Professionals at Jump Café, one of Toronto’s hottest restaurants, for dinner and networking. Cocktail at local bars will follow dinner.

 

Minimum:  35 guests

 

Price:  $50 per person (Includes three course dinner, tax and gratuity.  Individual is responsible for alcohol tab at Jump Café and bars.

Car Mania:  A Tour of the Dream Car Garage

 

Time:  12:30 pm-5:00 pm

 

Do you have the need for speed?  Come and tour the Legendary Motorcar Company Ltd®.  The new Halton Hills location includes: a 100 car showroom, fully equipped mechanical and assembly bays, downdraft spray booth and body shop and the set for the Dream Car Garage television show seen on the SPEED Channel.

 

This state-of-the-art facility meets every aspect of the car collector needs from ground-up restorations, to

service, race car builds and support, appraisals, storage and an ever changing inventory of some of the world's

finest collector and investment cars for sale as well as an exciting opportunity to see some of the rarest

domestic models.

PLEASE READ:  All tours will depart from the Fairmont Royal York. Tickets for tours and events will be in your

Registration envelope at the SIOR Registration area during posted registration hours. Tour registration deadlines are as

indicated per tour. Additional tickets may be sold on–site on a first-come, first-served basis at the SIOR registration desk,

if space is available.  If registrations do not meet minimums posted, you may choose another tour or opt for a refund. 

 

Should you cancel your reservation, cancellations must be made in writing and must be received by the cancellation date

indicated.  A $25 service charge will be deducted from your refund.  Individuals with special needs should indicate that

need on the registration form.
