SIOR PRIVACY POLICY

The Society respects the privacy of its members and other visitors to its Web site. The Society's members and visitors expect that their information provided online is used responsibly and appropriately. To protect online privacy, the Society has implemented the following policy.

Most of the data that SIOR collects on its Web site are used only to help SIOR better serve its members. It is SIOR's general policy to collect and store only personal information that our members and visitors knowingly provide.

SIOR does not collect any personal information from users browsing its Web site unless they voluntarily submit a request for application or information or purchase a product or service. Users to the public areas of SIOR's Web site browse anonymously. Only aggregate data -- such as the number of hits per page -- are collected. Aggregate data are only used for internal statistical purposes and do not provide any personal identifying information.  Generally, SIOR uses data collected to improve its Web content; to respond to members' and visitors' interests, needs and preferences; and to develop new products and services.

By using Society mailing lists and/or Broadcast Email, Society Members and Candidates acknowledge that the names and contact information are property of the Society and are supplied for their personal use only.  This information may not be duplicated or sold.  Permission to use this information does not imply Society endorsement of any product or service.  Although the Society does its best to maintain the quality of this information, it does not guarantee its accuracy.

SIOR also makes member contact information available through the SIOR membership directory (Executive Guide) and its Web site to other members and the public. On occasion, SIOR may also provide limited data to non-member third parties. These limited data, made available only in hardcopy format, include names, companies, and business addresses, but do not include business phone numbers, business fax numbers or email addresses. Contact information in electronic or digital format is never provided to non-member individuals or companies, except for very limited access provided to the Society's preferred providers of services to Society members.  In these cases, the products or services being offered must be available to Society members at a retail discount.

SIOR does not disclose credit card account information provided by its members and customers. When members and customers choose to pay for a product or service using their credit cards, SIOR submits the information needed to obtain payment to the appropriate clearinghouse.  The information is never made available to any other entities. 

This Web site contains links to other Web sites. SIOR has no control over and is not responsible for the privacy policies or content of these sites.
