THE MILDRED C. (MILLIE) HANSON, SIOR MEMORIAL AWARD:

The Millie

2010 GUIDELINES

The purpose of The SIORF Millie award is to honor and recognize the distinguished career and service of a female SIOR based on the following:

-           Contribution to SIOR

-          Contribution to local community

-          Production

The Millie is presented In Memory of Mildred C. (Millie) Hanson, SIOR, a pioneer for women in commercial real estate who died in December 2007 after a long and distinguished career. To honor her memory, the SIOR Foundation established the MILDRED C. HANSON, SIOR MEMORIAL FUND, which not only bestows the Millie Award, but also grants an annual scholarship to an outstanding female student in an accredited real estate program. (See separate guidelines for the MCH Memorial Scholarship.)

This award is not necessarily bestowed annually, unless a particular female SIOR's accomplishments and contributions clearly stand out above all others. It will be announced and presented at the SIOR Fall World Conference in any year it is bestowed. Travel and conference expenses for the recipient are not covered by the Memorial Fund, but the cost of the award itself and staff administrative costs are covered.

Eligibility: Any female Active, Associate or Retired SIOR in good standing is eligible to receive this award.

Criteria:

• Nominees must be active in SIOR and the local community, and productive in the industry.

• Nominations may be submitted by another member of SIOR or by the SIORF Millie Nominating Committee.

• All nominations must be submitted in the form of a letter citing the nominee’s achievements and reasons why the nominee should receive the award.

• A call for nominations will be publicized to the SIOR membership each year.

·    Only nominations submitted by the published deadline will be considered.

·    The Millie Award will only be given when a nominee is deemed meritorious.

The selection of the recipient in 2010 will be made by a three-person SIORF Millie Nominating Committee comprised of the two most recent immediate Past Presidents of the SIOR Foundation, plus the most recent recipient of The Millie Award.
