SIOR Foundation regularly establishes grants to support development of educational projects and services from both the Society of Industrial and Office REALTORS as well as projects initiated by other industry organizations.

The SIOR Foundation has two programs for the benefit of all SIOR members.
-
SIOR Programs (Center for Career Advancement)
, which provides $25,000 toward educational initiatives for SIORs.
- The Matching Municipal Report Cards Study program, which will fund $2,000 toward a new research project conducted by an SIOR Chapter to study the effects of government  policies on the commercial real estate community.

SIOR Chapter Matching Programs Grant
This year, the Foundation will grant $17,000 toward matching funds allocated by SIOR Chapters for speakers and community programs. The Foundation matches up to $2,500 each fiscal year to any SIOR Chapter for expenses in speakers and community programs in commercial real estate education and research.  Examples include:

  • Nationally recognized speaker honorarium and fees
  • Educational program meeting/event expenses
  • Commercial real estate community research projects

In the fiscal year ending August 31, 2009, SIOR Foundation matched $29,646 to 12 SIOR Chapters in support of educational programs, speaker fees and community research projects. Application  

SIOR Chapter Matching Municipal Report Card w/Chapters
The Foundation will match up to $16,000 this fiscal year to cover Chapter expenses related to conducting studies through university partnerships that research the ways government business processes affect commercial real estate transactions. Application 

SIOR Internships Program
Starting FY 2009-2010, the SIOR Foundation will grant $10,000 annually for the SIOR Internships program, equaling a $500 match for each SIOR who hires an intern. SIOR Foundation grants matching funds annually to all SIOR members for students interested in career opportunities in commercial real estate brokerage through internships with SIOR designees. Application  

Professional Report Authors Grant
The Foundation will provide $9,000 toward the authoring of two freelance articles per issue for the Professional Report magazine.
